Stepping Stones Community Resources exhibited and attended the 13 Annual North Carolina Substance Abuse Prevention Conference, May 2-3, 2017 at the McKimmon Conference and Training Center in Raleigh NC.

This conference covered so many issues facing North Carolina. Some of the topics discussed were:

“What is Big Marijuana and Where Are We Going with Pot Policy in the US?”

“Statewide Collaboration Increases the Impact of Prevention”

“Is Childhood Adversity the Real Gateway Drug?”

“Everything You Need to Know About Recovery High Schools”

On the first day of the conference, The Honorable Josh Stein, Attorney General of North Carolina, spoke on “Confronting the Opioid Epidemic in North Carolina”. In addition, Erin J. Day, BA, BS, Director of the Wilson County Substance Abuse Coalition, presented a breakout session on “Rx Media Campaign: Through the Local Looking Glass”.

A very informative and thought-provoking conference.
