Meet Our Support Staff

Datanya Betts, RN, BSN, DNP-FNP
Datanya is a Family Nurse Practitioner with over 18 years of registered nursing experience in acute care services. She has progressively moved through nursing management positions, beginning with Assistant Director of Nursing to Director of Nursing. She was the Clinical Nurse Manager for a medical-surgical nursing unit for 5 years.

Datanya holds a Doctorate of Science in Nursing with a concentration of Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Winston Salem State University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the Daemen College located in Amherst, NY.

Datanya is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and currently serves on the Healthcare systems Board and Quality Committee of outreach intervention programs. She received the Nightingale Award for Nursing Excellence and was nominated for the 2019 Nursing Excellence Award for Leadership from Nursing Spectrum. Datanya is committed to nursing excellence, improving nursing operations, the value of professionalism, quality outcomes and collaborative practice with patient/family centered care.

Katie Hagwood – Front Desk Coordinator
Katie has a Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Services from East Carolina University. She has over 3 years of experience working in health care performing a variety of administrative and clinical job duties. She is excited to fulfill her life’s passion at Stepping Stones Primary Care by helping others with compassion and kindness!

Ida Beverly – Certified Medical Assistant
Ida comes to us with 4 years’ experience as a Medical Assistant, certified by the AAMA.
Recently worked at Kinston Community Health Center, Family Medicine & Rehabilitation, and MDSI.

Diane Newton – Office Administrator/ LPN
Diane has 30 years experience in various types of nursing. She worked at Walter Reed Military Medical Center in Washington, DC, as well as, Kaiser Permanente Pediatrics Urgent Care for the past 20yrs. She’s looking forward to applying all her experiences to give great care to all our patients at Stepping Stones Primary Care.
